Jovenes Biofísicos – The Young Initiative on Biophysics is a nonprofit organization integrated by doctoral and postdoctoral students across Argentina, members of the Argentinian Biophysical Society (SAB). Since 2016, our goal is to present the researcher in training with all the possible tools to grow professionally, as well as to provide spaces for discussion, consultation and networking. Every year, we hold satellite meetings to the annual meeting of the SAB, where we organize workshops, round tables for discussion, contests, among other activities with great support from the young biophysical community.

In 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic we decided to exploit virtual tools. We have organized different activities adapted to each platform. Some of them were adaptations of those made in person, such as “Your project in 2 minutes” and “YIB-talks”. Others were designed exclusively for this format, such as interviews with other young people and researchers, videos with scholarship information, video-tutorials and infographics on topics of interest to biophysics.
